RSECon25 9-11 September 2025
The ninth annual conference for Research Software Engineering (RSECon25) will be hosted at the University of Warwick in Coventry, UK from 9 – 11 September 2025.
Registration is now open.
We are expecting around 450 delegates from around the world – mainly Research Software Engineers, but also other people related to the wider field. We also plan an online stream of the conference, for those who cannot travel to Coventry in-person.
Highlights from RSECon24 are available on YouTube.
The draft Programme is now available.
Conference vision statement
RSECon25 has complimentary twin themes: RSE as Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI); RSE and Research Excellence. These themes will interplay to show the critical role RSEs have as DRI and the skills they use to fulfil this role.
An RSE attendee should come away from the conference feeling recognised for the critical work they are doing and inspired to deepen their technical skills to play a greater role in the UK’s DRI. Funders and 3rd parties should be given an understanding of how much UK DRI is dependent on the activities of RSEs and the level of skill this involves. Sponsors should feel that they are talking to a critical audience who will be making expert decisions about the future of UK DRI including software tools, staffing, and influencing hardware choices.
An accessible and inclusive conference
We are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive conference, as we want to give as many community members as possible the opportunity to take part in RSECon25. The generous contribution of our sponsors is critical for enabling this, and we are grateful to all the organisations who have sponsored the conference so far. Individuals can also help make the conference as inclusive as possible by donating to the participation and inclusion fund, to help support access to the conference for those who would not otherwise be able to participate.
